He enjoys all facets of fishing from rock and surf, estuary lure fishing to offshore kayak fishing and is the current SA Record holder for capture of a Bronze Whaler Shark. Tuhan Steyn

Why I Fish!
"Fishing has always been about more than the catch. It’s the calm of an early launch, the long hours of focus, and the constant problem solving reading water, wind, tide, and structure and making small decisions that might finally unlock that one bite you’ve been working for.

Out there, you’re fully present. No noise. No rush. Just you, the water, and nothing else.

I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned, helping others shorten the learning curve, and showing that respect for the resource matters as much as catching, handling fish properly, and releasing them to fight another day.

And if I’m being honest, it’s also that thing every angler understands: the inability to walk away without “just one last cast.”
Because fishing, at its core, is freedom, simple, earned, and real."

JP Slabber

This is all we have to say about JP...and I quote: Do you want to know my definition of "viskoors" is?
Lying awake at 1AM, trying to sleep but it’s impossible. The blood is pumping, mind racing, already planning the lure, the tackle, the first cast. I can hear the reel screaming before I even hit the water. It’s that pure excitement, that electric anticipation... nothing beats it. That’s what I live for. Whether I’m paddling out on my kayak, hunting pelagic, or zipping around on the Fishduc, the ocean fuels my passion.

Jean Le Roux

Jean grew up fishing freshwater with his dad. He felt like fishing and hunting were a big part of their DNA. But it wasn't until he discovered the sport of fishing from a kayak in the ocean that he realised how much he really enjoyed fishing. Being on the ocean, fighting waves, wind, and currents in search of that next big fish is the ultimate freedom and his happy place! Le Roux'ier fish slayer.

TJ Stumke

TJ is a young angler from KwaZulu-Natal with five years of fishing experience and two years fishing from a kayak. He started fishing from the shore in freshwater and has since moved into kayak fishing, where he has already represented South Africa in papgooi fishing, and is now moving into ocean fishing.
He enjoys the calm of the water, learning more about the fish he catches, and understanding the bait they prefer. Curious, driven, and always keen to improve, TJ sees fishing as both an adventure and a way to connect with nature — with every launch offering something new to learn.
