The 2025 edition of this amazing established annual event is organised by a newly established committee for 2025, namely Dan Vivier, JP Slabber, James Stapelberg, Trevor Marsden, Werner Grobler and Kowus Pelser.
This year, there will be the option to participate in teams again, and Snoek, Yellow Tail, Hotties alongside the star of the show, Bonnies, will get prizes. Brace yourself for the event of a lifetime.
Event dates: 16 Aug 2025 – 21 September 2025 (This year the comp will only run on weekends, no weekday fishing. Friday’s are however included)
Event Kick Off: We will kick off the event with a bang on the 16th of Aug where we will all come together a three anchor to get things going. The final event briefing will take place prior to unleashing the fisherman to the waters. (Only 3 Anchor allowed on this day) (Weather permitting)
Location: The local waters of Cape Town (Melkbos to Strand)
Launch Sites: 3 Anchor, OPBC, Simonstown, Millers or Buffels Bay at Cape Point.
Comp Format: The format will be top 4 biggest Bonnies as main objective, but also individual best Yellowtail, biggest Hottie and biggest Snoek. There will also be a top team prize. Our sponsors will also have small side comps like the Noeby photo comp so keep an eye out for these.
